Discord has been known for a very long time to include multiple loggers, such as process loggers and mulitple third party's that recive your messages before discord does.
Recently, Discord updated there privacy policy and this is basically what they said:
Discord will give all of your information to law enforcement. This includes data like your IP address, hardware UUID, Email address, Phone number, Birthday, All messages sent and received and voice calls (voice print). This means
that anyone commiting offences can be caught just by using this app alone.
Discord also addressed an issue that has been ongoing for awhile involving DNT (Do not track) Discord basically said, fuck you. Discord ignores all DNT signals, Discords services do not respond to any DNT signals, thus making it
harder to become even the slightest anonymous on discord, which brings us to our next point.
Discord make it very hard to be anonymous while using there service/application. Discord ignore DNT signals and FORCE USERS TO ACCEPT COOKIES. Yes, you heard me, force users to accept cookies embeded by facebook and twitter. Incase you didnt know, that is illegal in many countries, now due to the fact discord basically says "If you want to use discord you have to accept these cookies" makes it not illegal because well, there giving you the option to not accept the cookies but, at the cost of not being able to use there communication app. Discord allow for mulitple third parties to have full access to your data too, when sending a message on discord, 3 other third party companys get your message BEFORE DISCORD, and thats only the third parties we discovered, there could be more.
Right then, you want to use discord? OKay, hand over your personal phone number that contains everything from your exact location, all your SMS messages and your contacts, OH, also we will sell your phone number and store it permently in our database. Whats that? Your in the EU? Oh okay then we will just lie about removing it after 60 days even tho we have been hacked and proven multiple times this is a lie :) Discord is utter bullshit and completly centerilized communication, wanting more and more of your data. They plan to sell all this data publicly soon, they dont even accept crypto payments for there upgradable accounts.
Due to this anyone trying or commiting any illegal activity (even minor offences) will get caught. Being on Discord and keeping an anonymous identity is impossible. If you commit any crime and talk about it on Discord, if you are reported (providing if Discord/Police care about you) they will get you. Most people who use Discord commit very basic and unskilled cybercrime, such as sim swapping or swatting. These offences dont bother discord or police unless someone gets hurt or wants you (very low chance).
